The character development is spot on - these are not two-dimensional characters, you will think and feel right along with them as you read. The action is great and keeps the plot moving, but it does not overshadow the romance between Marcus and Christina.

Like a previous reviewer mentioned, I love Brenda's take on the soul-mate concept. Watching the range of emotions the vampires go through when they discover their heartmates but the feelings are not reciprocated right away makes it seem that much more real and poignant.

A great follow up by Brenda Sparks to her first book in the Alpha Council Chronicles! Christina, a fiery redheaded nurse, meets a sexy stranger, Marcus, when he rescues her from a car accident. Not the "weak female" Christina impresses Marcus with her inner strength, determination, and skills as nurse. Marcus realizes this amazing woman is his heartmate! Unfortunately, there is another vying for Christina with more sinister intent. No spoilers, so read this sexy, exciting tale to find out what happens! Bonus, the story is set in Savannah, GA, one of the most beautiful, romantic--not to mention haunted--cities in the Southern United States. Already looking forward to Book 3.
MAY HAVE SOME SPOILERS! Marcus and Christina has an instant chemistry which fuels Deadly Alpha. The vivid characters and intriguing plot line made it difficult to put down. I found myself staying awake to discover what happened next! The description and detail the author puts in the story submerses you in the plot. I found myself thinking about the characters even after I finished the story. I found Marcus hot and had sympathy for their struggle as they over come the obstacles repeatedly thrown in their path.
I so loved Alpha Mine, I couldn’t wait to read the second book. This series is wonderful and so sinfully sexy, you won’t want to miss a single one!

I’ve always loved, and of course believed in, the idea of soul mates, and the author’s concept of “heartmates” is similar, with the exception that, if lost, a vampire will most likely go insane. We saw this in the very first book, and it continues to be a very serious point in each book. The sweet love story fulfilled my every romantic whim, and the steamy hot sex scenes (there are plenty!) with the studly Alpha, are engaging. There’s also a realistic villain, which the author brings to life with a skillful vividness, to add plenty of suspense and danger. Fantastic read!

Christina and Marcus! Steamy! For my entire life, I avoided paranormal. However, Brenda and her cast of Alpha characters have sucked me in. She has developed these vampire personalities so well that I never question their reality. I find myself loving some of them and hating others. The romance, action, and suspense kept me turning pages well past bedtime. This is the third book I have read by this author and am looking forward to the next one.
Another winner from Brenda Sparks! Deadly Alpha has fantastic character development, I love the characters of Marcus and Christina, Brenda does a fabulous job of bringing them together and establishing their relationship. The action and suspense elements drive the plot as a great backdrop to the romance so this book has something for everyone.

And vampires. Love the vampires.

All in all, a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and can't wait for the next installments!
