How many times does your wife pester you in a day? Or, how often do you hear your husband telling you to “stop being such a nag”? Nagging is recognized as a form of interpersonal communication and considered a form of persistent persuasion. It is known to involve two people the target and the persuader. The act of nagging has proven itself to be an ineffective method of communication in familial relationships. Acting as both a major cause of stress and a potential ender of marriages, nagging is a habit that women should throw out the window. Nagging pushes people away and creates resentment; it disrupts the natural flow of communication, making home life incredibly difficult. How to Stop Nagging Why Do Women Nag? and How to Quit Nagging For Good eBook Kelsey Huntington

In the introduction this book says that household responsibilities should be 50/50 and that in most cases where there are issues in a relationship both parties typically share the blame. But in the body of the argument most of the blame is laid at the feet of the nagger going so far as to say that nagging leads your partner to ignore you, never acknowledging the fact that in many cases people nag because they were ignored from the beginning.

I'm not saying that nagging is always justified, but placing almost all the blame for nagging at the nagger feet is not going to help a couple solve the nagging problem. Some of the advice given in the book, like learning effective communication and listening techniques is good, but the emphasis is still placed on the nagger needing to make the bulk of the changes. It really isn't until the conclusion that the book briefly mentions that the nagged partner should do things differently as well.

This book does not really provide much useful information for ending a nagging habit.

How to Stop Nagging Why Do Women Nag? and How to Quit Nagging For Good eBook Kelsey Huntington Reviews

Before I got married, I vowed I would never be a nagging wife. And then I got married. And stuff happened. And stress of life came. But this book teaches me just how to stop trying to control my husband so that I can better appreciate the gifts of a trusting, dependent relationship. For those women who find themselves nagging. I certainly recommend it.
I rarely write reviews, but this book (or rather booklet) is SO bad. It's not even a book. It's 36 tiny pages with a couple paragraphs on each page. If you printed it off on your printer it would be about 10 pages. No real "How To" do anything. It pretty much says a bunch of stuff you already know (especially if you are a nag looking for help) and basically says "learn to communicate" and "go to a counselor." Seriously? That's kind of obvious. Was hoping for some in depth help so I don't have to go to a counselor. Wasn't that the point of the book? Don't waste your money.
This book is a quick read but really gives you some good tips about where to start addressing nagging problems. I loved the part about the feelings jar, and so did my husband! For details and some darn good advice, get this today, whether you're the nagger or the nagee. Thanks to the author!
I know we have all been there either on the receiving end of the nagging or the giving end of the nagging. We think that by just repeating ourselves over and over that this will help restore order in our houses. However, this is a terrible way of getting things we want. That's why I loved this book. It breaks down the difference between nagging and just making a request. In addition, it shows you why nagging simply doesn't work any way you cut it. The best part is the tips and tricks in this book that tell you how to stop nagging and still get your partner or children to do their jobs!
Nagging is considered one of the most common reasons of a failed marriage or relationship. Woman are often misunderstood for this bad habit. A relationship consist of two individuals who are willing to love and accept the imperfection of their partners. This eBook will help you understand the reasons why a woman nags. You will learn how to deal with a nagging partner. A detailed explanation will be provided in this eBook about the different types of nagging. After reading this eBook you will be able to identify yourself if you're a nag person. I find this very helpful because it can be an eye opener to any relationship. It will help them understand where one is coming from. Every relationship is a work and progress, both must have the same goal and that is to stay together. And for you to achieve that goal you have to remember that communication, love and respect are is the keys to a happy and healthy relationship.
Kelsey Huntington calls nagging "persistant persuasion." If you've ever nagged you know it doesn't work. I stopped doing it a long time ago.

This book basically explains that women nag because they feel disrespected and want more control over their world. (Not to mention a lot of women work two jobs - work and home) Of course this causes a lot of tension in the home. This book also discusses nagging kids which apparently doesn't work either.

This book explains nagging but doesn't give a lot of tips for how you can make your spouse and kids more responsible. I think agreeing to certain tasks and holding family members responsible is a way you could stop the nagging.

I would have liked if this book gave me tips for how to communicate more effectively and explained some negotiating skills. But it was interesting and will make you more aware of how nagging destroys relationships.

As my mother always told me. Get a good life insurance policy and then let your husband do what he wants.

~The Rebecca Review
It's short and to the point for why nagging is bad for relationships and it would definitely be worth the low cost and read if you suspect you are a nag or your spouse is a nag and you haven't already tried researching it thoroughly on your own. However, I have researched it and there wasn't much new here. I am still hoping to find a more in depth topics and tips on reducing nagging and effectively encouraging forgetful spouses and children. I understand why nagging is ineffective, my husband sometimes nags me too, but you can't just accept your children don't do homework, live in a dirty home, etc. I just can't do it all and can't hire help for everything that needs to get done, I have both a full and partime job! Maybe there is no solution! The best use of this book might actually be to give it to the "target" or "nagee" to help them understand where it comes from and why the spouse/parent is doing it. Most people being nagged have short attention spans, hence the need to nag them, so the short and to the point style of the book is perfect for that.
